I am pleased to announce that the 4th Congress of the Asian Society for Pediatric Research (ASPR) was a tremendous success.
This Congress was, for the first time, hosted with the Pediatric Academic Societies’ Annual Meeting, and held from Saturday, May 3 to Tuesday, May 6, 2008 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
I have heard from many young pediatricians from Asian countries that this joint meeting was so fruitful in that they could exchange views with other pediatricians around the world, particularly from North America. I am sure these experiences and good encounters will remain as pleasant memories for many years to come.
We will have our 5th Congress in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China in 2009, and the 6th in Taipei, Taiwan in 2010.
I am pleased to announce that the joint meeting with PAS will be held every three years from now on. That is, we will have our 2nd joint meeting in 2011 in Denver.
In closing, I trust I can count on your continued support of the Asian Society for Pediatric Research, which is rather young and hope you will encourage your colleagues to participate in the forthcoming ASPR meetings.
